PMI Educational Requirements

Project Management Professional (PMP) Candidates - As a prerequisite for taking the PMP exam, applicants must earn 35 contact hours of instruction that addresses learning objectives in project management.  Can I take just a few PMP PDU courses now and receive individual credit for them?

Yes.  Each indicated individual eLearning course is pre-approved for PMI PDU credit.  You may take the courses in any order and at any time you wish during your 1-year subscription.

 

 Can I access my PMP PDU credit courses from both home and work?

Yes.  You may access your online eLearning PDU courses from any computer with internet access, as long as the computer meets our minimum technical requirements shown at the bottom of this page.  The easiest way to verify this is to take a sample course and make sure that you are able to view the course text and graphics, see a video, and hear the audio.  The free sample course link is just above these frequently asked questions, in green.

 

 Can I start a PMP PDU credit course and then go back to it again when I have time?

Yes.  You may start and stop eLearning courses as often as you like.  Click the "exit" button when leaving a course, and the system will remember where you left off and return to your previous position.

 

How long will it take to earn my PMI PDUs?

Work at your own pace, anytime you wish for up to 1 year.  1 hour of online e-Learning course credit is equivalent to 1 hour of actual time.  Your actual time may vary depending on your familiarity with the topics.  To receive PMI PDU credit, you simply need to pass either a skill assessment or quiz with a score of 70% or better on each pre-approved online course you take.  All questions are multiple-choice or 1-word answers and straightforward.  Following each quiz question, you will receive an explanation of the correct answer.  You may take the assessments or quizzes as many times as you wish.  Only your best score will be counted. 

 

 Must we purchase a subscription for each PMP?

Yes.  Each person must have an individual eLearning subscription because each PMP professional must take his/her own quizzes or assessments and be able to provide documentation to PMI in the event of an audit. You may purchase multiple subscriptions at once using the same company credit card, purchase order or check.  We offer an automatic 10% discount for 2-5 subscriptions or a 20% discount for 6 or more.
